Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the oil, eggs, and milk. Give them a good stir until well blended.
In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. This includes flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make sure they are evenly combined.
Pour the wet ingredient mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir them together until everything is well mixed and there are no lumps. The batter should be smooth.
Take a 9 x 13-inch baking pan and spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Pour the batter into the pan, spreading it out evenly.
In a separate bowl, combine the topping ingredients. This might include a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and maybe even some chopped nuts. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the batter in the baking pan.
Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 35 minutes. Keep an eye on it as baking times may vary. The cake is ready when it turns golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the coffee cake from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes before serving. This allows it to set and become easier to handle. Slice it up and savour the deliciousness of your homemade Betty Crocker Coffee Cake!
