  • 1/2 cup of softened butter
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup of fresh blueberry puree
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Add a pinch of salt too.

Instructions

  • Blend fresh or frozen blueberries until smooth.

  • This takes about two minutes.
  • Add powdered sugar slowly while mixing.
  • Pour in the blueberry puree gradually.
  • Add vanilla extract and salt.
  • Mix until everything is well combined.
  • The filling should be smooth and creamy.
  • Scoop small portions of buttercream with a spoon.
  • Roll them into small balls with your hands.
  • Place them on parchment paper.
  • Freeze them for thirty minutes.
  • This makes coating easier later.
  • Use a double boiler for best results.
  • Stir the chocolate until completely melted.
  • You can also microwave in thirty-second bursts.
  • Stir between each burst until smooth.
  • Take the frozen buttercream balls out.
  • Dip each one into melted chocolate.
  • Use a fork to lift them out.
  • Let excess chocolate drip off gently.
  • Place them back on parchment paper.
  • Let them set at room temperature.
  • Wait for the chocolate to harden completely.
  • This takes about twenty to thirty minutes.
  • You can refrigerate to speed things up.

Notes

  • Use room temperature butter for smooth buttercream.
  • Cold butter creates lumps in the mixture.
  • Fresh blueberries give the best flavor.
  • But frozen ones work fine too.
  • Freeze the buttercream balls properly before coating.
  • This prevents them from melting in chocolate.
  • Don't overheat the chocolate while melting.
  • It can become grainy and thick.
  • Add a teaspoon of coconut oil for smoother chocolate.
  • Store finished chocolates in an airtight container.
  • They stay fresh for up to two weeks.
  • Keep them in the refrigerator during hot weather.
