Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Chef Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Small bowl

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup PANKO BREADCRUMBS
  • 3 tbsp OLIVE OIL
  • 4 ANCHOVY FILLETS
  • 2 cloves GARLIC
  • 1/4 tsp RED PEPPER FLAKES
  • 2 tbsp FRESH PARSLEY
  • 1 tsp LEMON ZEST

Instructions

  • Prep the Flavor Base First, mince your garlic and parsley very finely. Chop the anchovies until they look like a paste.
  • Heat the Skillet Place your skillet over a medium heat setting. Add the olive oil and let it get warm.
  • Melt the Anchovies Add the anchovy paste to the warm oil. Stir them until they completely dissolve and disappear.
  • Infuse the Aromatics Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook them for one minute until they smell great.
  • Toast the Breadcrumbs Pour the panko breadcrumbs into the hot flavored oil. Stir constantly so they do not burn on bottom.
  • Achieve Golden Color Keep stirring for about three to five minutes. Stop when the crumbs are a deep golden brown.
  • Add Fresh Finishes Remove the pan from the heat immediately. Stir in the lemon zest and fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

➔ Use fresh garlic for the very best bold flavor.
➔ Stir the breadcrumbs constantly to prevent any dark burning.
➔ Choose high-quality olive oil for a much richer taste.
➔ Mince the anchovies well so they melt away completely.
➔ Watch the heat carefully to avoid bitter burnt garlic.
➔ Use panko instead of regular crumbs for better crunch.
➔ Add the herbs last to keep them bright green.
➔ Let the crumbs cool before storing in a jar.
