Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Stewing beef (medium-sized cubes)
  • 3 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Half cup Flour
  • Onion (chopped)
  • Medium potatoes (cubed)
  • 5 Carrots (peeled and cubed)
  • 2 large turnips cubed
  • 1-quart beef stock (high-quality)
  • 1 beef bouillon
  • 3 Fresh sprigs thyme
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1 cup Peas

Instructions
 

  • Combine salt and pepper with flour, coat meat, and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a large pot, and fry floured beef.
  • Avoid burning, cook meat and leftover flour together.
  • Transfer cooked meat onto a plate, and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, and sauté onions until soft.
  • Add cooked meat, veggies, thyme, ketchup, and stock.
  • Mix everything well until combined.
  • Let simmer for 1.5 hours, and stir occasionally.
  • Add peas just before serving.

Notes

  • Cut ingredients the same for even cooking.
  • Brown the beef for more flavour.
  • Cook it slowly for the best taste.
