Ingredients
  

  • 1 Can Whole Peeled Plum Tomatoes (28-ounce) 
  • 1 teaspoon  Distilled White Vinegar
  • ½ Medium  White Onion (Minced)
  • 3 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • Jalapeno Pepper (Minced)
  • 1 teaspoon  Kosher Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon  Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon  White Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Combine finely chopped onion, garlic, and jalapenos in a small bowl.
  • Heat oil in a medium saucepan.
  • Add minced garlic, onion, and jalapeno to the pan.
  • Stir in salt and cumin; cook until veggies are tender.
  • Add white vinegar, sugar, and chopped Roma tomatoes.
  • Dissolve sugar by stirring all ingredients.
  • Let the salsa cool after removing it from the heat.
  • Cover with plastic wrap or lid, and place in a glass jar or bowl.
  • Refrigerate the homemade El Fenix Salsa before serving.

Notes

  • Use El Fenix Salsa to make taco sauce. Just mix it with sour cream and lime juice for a creamy, tangy topping for tacos.
