Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp  Pompeian Olive Oil
  • Medium White Onion (Chopped)
  • 1 Clove  Garlic (Minced)
  • Large Carrot (Diced)
  • ¾ cup  Smoked Ham (Diced)
  • 6 cups  Water
  • 14 oz Goya Dry Green Split Peas
  • 2.80 oz  Goya Chicken Bouillon
  • 2.11 ounces  Goya Sazon Without Annatto
  • Salt and Black Pepper (To Taste)

Instructions
 

Prepare Ingredients:

  • Open Goya green split pea bag, sort, and wash.
  • Heat olive oil in an 8-quart pot on medium heat.
  • Add onion, garlic, carrot, smoked ham to pot.
  • Stir and cook for 5 minutes.

Cook the Soup:

  • Pour 6 cups of water, bring to boil on medium-high heat.
  • Add Goya Peas, Chicken Bouillon, and Sazon.
  • Stir with a wooden spoon, reduce heat to low.
  • Simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours until the peas tender.

Season and Serve:

  • Add salt and black pepper to taste.
  • If needed, add extra hot water.
  • Serve in bowls, top with cheese or croutons.

Notes

  • Cook slowly for great taste.
  • Add your favourite veggies.
  • Put croutons on top for extra crunch.
