- 1 tbsp Pompeian Olive Oil
- 1 Medium White Onion (Chopped)
- 1 Clove Garlic (Minced)
- 1 Large Carrot (Diced)
- ¾ cup Smoked Ham (Diced)
- 6 cups Water
- 14 oz Goya Dry Green Split Peas
- 2.80 oz Goya Chicken Bouillon
- 2.11 ounces Goya Sazon Without Annatto
- Salt and Black Pepper (To Taste)
Prepare Ingredients:
Open Goya green split pea bag, sort, and wash.
Heat olive oil in an 8-quart pot on medium heat.
Add onion, garlic, carrot, smoked ham to pot.
Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
Cook the Soup:
Pour 6 cups of water, bring to boil on medium-high heat.
Add Goya Peas, Chicken Bouillon, and Sazon.
Stir with a wooden spoon, reduce heat to low.
Simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours until the peas tender.
Season and Serve:
Add salt and black pepper to taste.
If needed, add extra hot water.
Serve in bowls, top with cheese or croutons.
