Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Food processor or rolling pin
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Fork or dipping tool

Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies regular flavor works best
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • Green food coloring gel works better than liquid
  • Red heart sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  • Place Oreos in your food processor.
  • Pulse until they become fine crumbs.
  • No food processor? Use a rolling pin instead.
  • Put cookies in a sealed bag first.
  • Then crush them until completely fine.
  • Add softened cream cheese to Oreo crumbs.
  • Mix together until well combined and smooth.
  • The mixture should hold together when squeezed.
  • This forms the base of your balls.
  • Roll mixture into 1-inch balls using hands.
  • Place each ball on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes until firm.
  • Cold balls are easier to dip later.
  • Microwave white chocolate in 30-second intervals.
  • Stir between each interval until smooth.
  • Add green food coloring and mix well.
  • Start with small amounts of coloring.
  • Add more until you reach Grinch green.
  • Dip each chilled ball into green chocolate.
  • Use a fork to lift and drain.
  • Tap fork gently to remove excess chocolate.
  • Place back on parchment paper immediately.
  • Place one red heart sprinkle on top.
  • Do this before chocolate hardens completely.
  • The heart represents the Grinch's growing heart.
  • Let chocolate set for 15 minutes.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easy mixing.
  • Cold cream cheese creates lumps in your mixture.
  • Gel food coloring gives brighter, more vibrant green.
  • Liquid coloring can make chocolate too thin.
  • Chill balls thoroughly before dipping them in chocolate.
  • This prevents them from falling apart completely.
  • Work quickly when adding heart sprinkles on top.
  • Chocolate sets fast, especially in cold rooms.
  • Store finished balls in an airtight container always.
  • They stay fresh in the fridge up to one week.
