Ingredients

  • 1 box YELLOW CAKE MIX
  • 1.25 cups GUAVA NECTAR
  • 3 large EGGS
  • 0.5 cups VEGETABLE OIL
  • 8 oz CREAM CHEESE
  • 1 cup SUGAR
  • 8 oz WHIPPED TOPPING
  • 2 cups GUAVA NECTAR
  • 0.25 cups CORNSTARCH

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease your baking pan very well. You can use butter or spray. This helps the cake come out easily.

Step 2:

  • Open your box of yellow cake mix. Pour it into the large bowl. Add the guava nectar and oil. Now crack the three large eggs.

Step 3:

  • Turn on your electric mixer now. Mix the batter on medium speed. Do this for two full minutes. The batter should look pink and smooth.

Step 4:

  • Pour the batter into the pan. Use your spatula to spread it. Tap the pan on the counter. This lets the air bubbles escape.

Step 5:

  • Place the pan in the oven. Bake it for about thirty minutes. The kitchen will smell like a paradise. Check the cake with a toothpick.

Step 6:

  • Take the cake out of the oven. Let it sit on the wire rack. It must be cold to the touch. This usually takes one hour.

Step 7:

  • Mix the cream cheese and sugar. Beat them until they are fluffy. Add the whipped topping very slowly. Spread this over the cold cake.

Step 8:

  • Mix nectar and cornstarch in a pan. Add a drop of food coloring. Stir it over medium heat. It will become thick and clear.

Step 9:

  • Let the pink glaze cool down. Pour it over the white frosting. Spread it evenly to the edges. It will look like a mirror.

Step 10:

  • Put the cake in the fridge. Let it set for two hours. This makes the layers stay together. Now you can slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs for a better cake texture always.
  • Ensure the cake is cold before adding the cream frosting.
  • Store the cake in the fridge to keep frosting fresh.
  • You can use frozen guava juice if nectar is missing.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep it very fluffy.
