- 3 pounds chicken pieces thighs and legs work best
- 2 large onions chopped
- 3 tablespoons Hungarian sweet paprika
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper
- Fresh parsley
Heat oil and butter in pot. Add salt and pepper to chicken. Brown chicken on all sides well. Take chicken out of pot.
Cook chopped onions until soft. Add paprika and cook thirty seconds. Add flour and stir one minute. Slowly add chicken broth while stirring.
Put chicken back in pot. Bring to boil then lower heat. Cover and cook thirty minutes. Take chicken out when tender.
Strain the sauce to make smooth. Mix some warm sauce with sour cream. Add sour cream mix back to sauce. Put chicken back in sauce.
