Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl
  • Bread Knife
  • Pastry brush
  • Oven mitts
  • Aluminum foil
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 Loaf FRENCH BREAD
  • 6 tbsp UNSALTED BUTTER
  • 2 cloves FRESH GARLIC
  • 2 tbsp FRESH PARSLEY
  • 1/2 tsp KOSHER SALT
  • 1/4 tsp BLACK PEPPER

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees now. Let the oven get nice and hot. This ensures the bread bakes very evenly.

Step 2:

  • Slice the bread in half lengthwise. Use a long and sharp serrated knife. Try to make the halves even in size.

Step 3:

  • Place the butter in your small mixing bowl. The butter should be at room temperature. This makes mixing much easier for you.

Step 4:

  • Mince the garlic cloves into very tiny pieces. Use a sharp knife or a garlic press. Add the garlic to the softened butter.

Step 5:

  • Chop the fresh parsley into very small bits. Add the parsley to the butter and garlic. This adds great color to the mixture.

Step 6:

  • Add the salt and pepper to the bowl. Stir everything together until it is very smooth. Make sure the herbs are spread out.

Step 7:

  • Spread the butter on both halves of bread. Use your pastry brush or a small spoon. Cover every single inch of the white bread.

Step 8:

  • Place the two halves back together again. Wrap the whole loaf in aluminum foil tightly. This keeps the steam inside the bread.

Step 9:

  • Put the loaf on your big baking sheet. Place it in the center of the oven. Bake it for about ten minutes total.

Step 10:

  • Carefully open the top of the foil wrap. Be careful of the hot steam coming out. Bake for five more minutes until golden.
