- 6 Medium Yukon Gold Potatoes
- 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 Tsp Kosher Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit now. Melt the butter in your small saucepan slowly.
Peel all of your Yukon Gold potatoes carefully. Slice them into very thin rounds with your knife.
Brush the bottom of your skillet with melted butter. Place one potato slice in the very center.
Arrange more slices in a circle around the center. Overlap them slightly to cover the whole pan bottom.
Brush this first layer with more melted butter. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper over the top.
Repeat these layers until all potatoes are used up. Press each layer down firmly with your clean hands.
Place the skillet on the stove over medium heat. Cook for five minutes until the bottom is brown.
Place the heavy lid on top of the potatoes. Put the skillet into the hot oven carefully now.
Bake the potatoes for about thirty minutes total. Remove the lid for the last ten minutes.
Take the pan out when potatoes feel very soft. Let them rest for five minutes before flipping over.
