Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter (softened) (2 sticks)
  • 1/2 cup  Granulated sugar
  • 2 cups  All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon  Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon  Vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour and salt together.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a log.
  • Cut the log into 1/2-inch-thick slices and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes until the cookie edges turn lightly golden.
  • Cool cookies briefly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack for complete cooling.
