Whisk them together in a bowl.
Set this mixture aside for later.
Beat softened butter with both sugars.
Mix until light and fluffy.
This takes about 3 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time.
Beat well after each addition.
Then add vanilla extract and mix.
Gradually add the flour mixture slowly.
Mix until just combined perfectly.
Don't overmix the dough at all.
Fold in chocolate chips gently.
Use a spatula for this step.
Make sure chips distribute evenly throughout.
Drop tablespoon-sized dough onto prepared sheets.
Space them 2 inches apart.
Bake for 9-11 minutes only.
Let cookies cool on sheets.
Transfer to a cooling rack.
Wait 5 minutes before eating.
