- 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup White Sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 Cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease your cake pan with butter or oil. Place a piece of parchment paper inside. This helps the cake come out easily.
Place the melted butter in the bowl. Add both types of sugar to it. Whisk them together until very smooth. This creates a sweet base for dough.
Add the egg and vanilla extract. Whisk again for one full minute. The mixture should look light and creamy. This adds air to the batter.
Stir in the flour and baking soda. Add the salt to the bowl too. Use your spatula to mix it gently. Do not overmix the thick dough.
Fold in most of the chocolate chips. Save some chips to put on top. Spread the dough into the cake pan. Press it down with your fingers.
Sprinkle the extra chips on the top. Bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes. The edges should be golden brown. The center will still look soft.
- Do not overbake the cookie cake.

- Use room temperature eggs for mixing.
- Melt the butter but let it cool.
- Measure your flour with a spoon.
- Do not pack the flour too tight.
- Use fresh baking soda for best rise.
