  • 9-inch pie plate.

  • Wire cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 6 Large Granny Smith Apples
  • ¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Package Prepared Pie Crusts
  • 1 Large Egg White
  • 1 Tbsp Sanding Sugar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oven Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. This ensures even baking for the crust.
  • Prepare the Apples Peel and slice your apples very thin. Put them in a large mixing bowl.
  • Season the Fruit Add sugar and cinnamon to the apples. Toss them until they are well coated.
  • Line the Pan Place one crust into your pie plate. Press it gently against the bottom and sides.

Notes

➡️ Use cold butter for a very flaky crust.
➡️ Slice apples evenly so they cook at once.
➡️ Place a baking sheet under the pie plate.
➡️ Let the pie cool before you slice it.
➡️ Use tart apples to balance the sweet sugar.
➡️ Brush the top with egg for golden color.
➡️ Shield the edges with foil if browning fast.
