Equipment

  • Loaf Pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Stand Mixer
  • Measuring cups
  • Potato masher
  • Rubber spatula
  • Wire cooling rack
  • Toothpick

Ingredients

  • 3 large BANANAS
  • 1 cup GRANULATED SUGAR
  • 1/2 cup BUTTER
  • 2 large EGGS
  • 1 1/2 cups ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 1 tsp BAKING SODA
  • 1 tsp SALT
  • 1 tsp VANILLA EXTRACT

Instructions

Heat the Oven

  • Turn your oven on to 350 degrees first. Grease your loaf pan with butter or cooking spray. This stops the bread from sticking to the sides.

Cream the Butter

  • Put the soft butter and sugar in a bowl. Mix them until the texture is light and fluffy. This step adds air to the bread batter.

Add the Eggs

  • Add your eggs into the butter mixture one by one. Beat them well after you add each single egg. The mixture should look very smooth now.

Mash the Bananas

  • Peel your bananas and put them on a plate. Mash them with a fork until they are gooey. Stir the bananas and vanilla into the wet mix.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together. Slowly add this to the wet banana mixture. Stir just until you do not see white flour.

Bake the Bread

  • Pour the thick batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for about sixty minutes until the top is brown. Let it cool before you try to slice it.

Notes

➜ Use bananas with lots of brown spots for sweetness.
➜ Do not overmix the batter or bread gets tough.
➜ Check the bread at fifty minutes to avoid burning.
➜ Use room temperature eggs for a smoother batter mix.
➜ Wrap the bread in plastic to keep it moist.
➜ Add chopped walnuts if you like a little crunch.
