Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups
  • Small saucepan

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 Cups Mixed Berries

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit now. Place the butter in your baking dish. Put the dish in the warming oven. Let the butter melt completely.
  • Whisk the flour and sugar in a bowl. Add the baking powder and the salt. Pour in the milk slowly. Stir until the batter is mostly smooth.
  • Remove the hot pan from the oven. Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir the batter and butter. Just let them sit together.
  • Rinse your fresh berries very well. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Drop the berries evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir the mixture.
  • Slide the pan back into the oven. Bake for forty to fifty minutes. The top should be golden brown. The fruit will bubble around the edges.

Notes

  • Use cold milk for a better batter texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep it light.
  • Fresh berries usually taste better than frozen ones.
  • Let the cobbler cool for ten minutes before serving.
  • Sprinkle extra sugar on top for a crunch.
  • Ensure your baking powder is fresh and active.
