- 4 Cloves Garlic

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. This low heat cooks meat slowly. It ensures the brisket stays moist.
Season the Ingredients for Paula Deen Braised Brisket. Rub salt and pepper on both sides. Press the spices into the meat.
Heat oil in the Dutch oven. Place the meat inside the hot pot. Brown it well on both sides.
Remove the meat from the pot. Add onions and garlic to the oil. Sauté them until they are soft.
Whisk the broth and chili sauce. Add the brown sugar and Worcestershire. Pour this mix into the pot.
Put the brisket back in the pot. Cover it with the tight lid. This traps the steam inside.
Place the pot in the oven. Bake it for about four hours. The meat must be very tender.
Take the meat out to rest. Let it sit for fifteen minutes. This keeps the juices inside.
Slice the meat across the grain. Pour the pan juices over it. Serve it while it is hot.
- Always slice the meat against the grain.
- Keep the lid closed during the cooking.
- Use a heavy pot for even heating.
- Let the meat rest before you slice.
- Do not trim all the fat off.
