  • 1 4 To 5 Pound Beef Brisket

  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 12 Oz Chili Sauce

Instructions

  • Season the Ingredients for Paula Deen Braised Brisket. Rub salt and pepper on both sides. Press the spices into the meat.
  • Heat oil in the Dutch oven. Place the meat inside the hot pot. Brown it well on both sides.
  • Remove the meat from the pot. Add onions and garlic to the oil. Sauté them until they are soft.
  • Whisk the broth and chili sauce. Add the brown sugar and Worcestershire. Pour this mix into the pot.
  • Put the brisket back in the pot. Cover it with the tight lid. This traps the steam inside.
  • Place the pot in the oven. Bake it for about four hours. The meat must be very tender.
  • Take the meat out to rest. Let it sit for fifteen minutes. This keeps the juices inside.
  • Slice the meat across the grain. Pour the pan juices over it. Serve it while it is hot.

Notes

  • Always slice the meat against the grain.
  • Keep the lid closed during the cooking.
  • Use a heavy pot for even heating.
  • Let the meat rest before you slice.
  • Do not trim all the fat off.
