Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • 9x13 Baking Dish
  • Medium saucepan
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring cups

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Cooked Chicken Shredded
  • 1 Can Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Box Stuffing Mix
  • 1/2 Cup Melted Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Chicken Broth

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit first. Lightly grease your large baking dish with cooking spray. This prevents the chicken from sticking to the bottom.
  • Place your shredded chicken in the bottom of the dish. Spread it out so it covers the whole area. This forms the base layer of your tasty meal.
  • Whisk the soup and sour cream in a bowl. Pour this mixture over your chicken layers evenly. Use a spoon to smooth it out to the edges.
  • Mix your dry stuffing with the melted butter now. Add a splash of broth to keep it soft. Stir it until all the bread crumbs look wet.
  • Sprinkle the stuffing over the creamy chicken layer. Cover every spot so the top is full of flavor. Do not press it down too hard into the sauce.
  • Place the dish into the center of the oven. Bake it for about thirty minutes until it bubbles. The top should look golden brown and smell great.

Notes

  • Use a rotisserie chicken to save a lot of time.
  • Do not overmix the stuffing or it becomes very mushy.
  • Let the casserole sit for five minutes before serving it.
  • Add some black pepper for a little bit of heat.
  • Use low sodium broth to control the salt levels better.
