Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Glass Jar with Lid
  • Measuring cups
  • Funnel

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Black Pepper
  • 1/4 Cup Garlic Powder

Instructions

  • Gather your salt, pepper, and garlic powder now. Make sure your mixing bowl is completely dry. Any moisture will make the spices clump together.
  • Pour the salt into the small mixing bowl. Add the black pepper and garlic powder next. Look at the colors blending as you pour.
  • Use your whisk to stir the spices together. Mix them until the color looks very even. No big white or black spots should remain.
  • Place your funnel over the clean glass jar. Carefully pour the spice mix into the container. Tap the jar gently to settle the powder.
  • Seal the lid on the jar very tightly. Label the jar so you do not forget it. Store it in a cool and dark place.

Notes

  • Use high-quality fine sea salt for the best taste.
  • Make sure your garlic powder is fresh and not old.
  • Freshly cracked black pepper adds a much stronger flavor.
  • Always shake the jar before you use the seasoning.
  • Keep the spice jar away from a hot stove.
  • Dry your measuring spoons before dipping into the jars.
  • Double the recipe if you cook for many people.
  • Use a tight lid to keep the moisture away.
