- 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 Cup Long Grain White Rice
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
- 1 Tsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Cups Chicken Broth
- 1/2 Cup Tomato Sauce
- 1 Tsp Ground Cumin
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
Place your large skillet on the stove. Turn the heat to medium-high. Add the vegetable oil to the pan.
Add the dry white rice to the hot oil. Stir the rice constantly for five minutes. It should look golden brown and toasted.
Add the chopped onions to the skillet now. Cook them until they become soft and clear. Then stir in the minced garlic.
Pour the chicken broth and tomato sauce in carefully. Add the cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything together one time.
Bring the liquid to a boil quickly. Turn the heat down to very low. Place the lid on the skillet tightly.
Simmer the rice for twenty minutes. Do not lift the lid during this time. The steam cooks the rice perfectly.
Turn off the heat after twenty minutes. Let the pan sit for five minutes. Use a fork to fluff the rice.
