- 1 Cup Butter
- 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Tbsp Orange Juice
- 1 Tbsp Orange Zest
- 1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Orange Juice
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees now. Grease your baking pan with butter or spray. This prevents the brownies from sticking to the bottom.
Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl. Use your mixer on a medium speed setting. The mixture should look very pale and fluffy.
Add the eggs to the butter and sugar. Mix them in one at a time for smoothness. Pour in the fresh orange juice and zest.
Stir in the flour and the salt slowly. Do not overmix the batter at this stage. Stop once you see no more dry flour.
Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan. Spread it out evenly with your small spatula. Bake for about thirty minutes in the oven.
Whisk the powdered sugar and juice for the glaze. Pour it over the brownies while they are warm. Let them cool completely before you cut them.
- Use fresh oranges for the best zest and juice.
- Do not overbake the brownies or they get dry.
- Let the brownies cool to get very clean edges.
- Sift your powdered sugar to avoid a lumpy glaze.
- Cream the butter and sugar for at least three minutes.
