  • Wire cooling rack
  • Paper towels
  • Meat thermometer
  • Brown Paper Bag

Ingredients

  • 1 3- lb Chicken
  • 2 ½ Cups Self-rising Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp House Seasoning
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Tsp Hot Sauce
  • 1 Quart Peanut Oil

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken Pieces. Wash the meat and pat it very dry. Season every piece well with your house seasoning salt.
  • Make the Liquid Wash. Whisk the eggs and water in a bowl. Add a splash of hot sauce for extra flavor.
  • Coat the Chicken. Put the flour and garlic powder in a bag. Dip chicken in eggs and then shake in flour.
  • Heat the Frying Oil. Fill your pot halfway with the peanut oil. Heat it until it reaches 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Fry the Chicken. Place a few pieces in the hot oil. Do not crowd the pot while you are cooking.
  • Brown Both Sides. Fry the meat for about twelve to fifteen minutes. Turn them over halfway through the cooking time.
  • Drain and Rest. Move the chicken to a wire rack. Let it sit for five minutes before you serve.
