Equipment

  • Loaf Pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Wire rack

Ingredients

  • 3 Medium Bananas
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1.5 Cups Flour

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees now. Grease your loaf pan with extra butter. This prevents the bread from sticking later.
  • Peel your ripe bananas in a bowl. Mash them well with a large fork. Make sure there are no big lumps.
  • Add the melted butter to the bananas. Stir them together until they are combined. The mix will look a bit thin.
  • Mix in the sugar and the egg. Add the vanilla extract to the bowl. Stir well to make it very smooth.
  • Sprinkle the baking soda and salt inside. Stir these in carefully but very thoroughly. This ensures the bread rises evenly everywhere.
  • Add the flour to the wet mix. Stir gently until the white streaks vanish. Do not overmix the thick bread batter.
  • Pour the batter into your prepared pan. Smooth the top with a small spoon. It is now ready for the oven.
  • Bake the bread for one full hour. Check the center with a thin toothpick. It should come out clean and dry.

Notes

  • Use bananas that are very dark and soft.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding flour.
  • Measure your flour using the spoon and level.
  • Let the bread cool before you slice it.
  • Check the oven temp with a separate thermometer.
