Heat your skillet over medium-high heat first.
Add the ground beef to the pan.
Break it apart with your wooden spoon.
Cook for 6-8 minutes until completely browned.
Drain any excess fat from the meat.
Add taco seasoning to the cooked beef.
Pour in the half cup of water.
Stir everything together really well.
Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
The sauce will thicken up nicely.
While meat cooks, prep all your toppings.
Shred the lettuce into small pieces.
Dice tomatoes into bite-sized chunks.
Put each topping in separate bowls.
This makes serving super easy later.
Carefully open each chip bag from the top.
Don't rip them too much down the sides.
Leave the bag mostly intact for serving.
Crush chips slightly inside each bag.
Spoon seasoned meat directly into each chip bag.
Add cheese on top of the meat.
Then pile on lettuce and tomatoes.
Add sour cream and salsa last.
Hand everyone a fork and enjoy!
