Preheat your oven to 325°F first.
Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
This prevents cookies from sticking completely.
Get all your ingredients measured and ready.
Beat the softened butter until it's fluffy.
Add ½ cup powdered sugar gradually.
Mix until everything is light and creamy.
Add vanilla extract and mix well.
Mix flour and salt in another bowl.
Add this mixture to the butter slowly.
Stir until just combined together.
Don't overmix the dough at all.
Add the chopped pecans to your dough.
Fold them in gently with a spoon.
Make sure pecans are distributed evenly throughout.
Roll dough into small one-inch balls.
Place them on your prepared baking sheet.
Space them about two inches apart.
Bake for 15-18 minutes in the oven.
They should be lightly golden on bottom.
Don't let them brown too much.
Let cookies cool for five minutes only.
Roll them in powdered sugar while warm.
Let them cool completely on a rack.
Roll in powdered sugar again for coverage.
