- 5 cups Tayberries (fresh or frozen)
- 3½ – 4 cups Sugar
Wash the berries gently, and pat them dry. Warm jars and lids.
In a big pot, mix tayberries and sugar, and wait for an hour. Cook until sugar dissolves, and berries juice up. Boil, skim foam, simmer for 2-5 mins, check jam.
Pour hot jam into jars, seal, and boil jars for 10 mins. Let cool, check the lids, then store them.
- Use Fresh Tayberries Good tayberries make yummy jam. So, get ripe and fresh tayberries for the best taste.
- Tayberries already have some pectin, but adding a bit of lemon juice helps it set better.
- To keep your jam fresh, make sure your jars are super clean before you put the jam in.
