- 8 oz Milk (1 cup)
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 4 oz Vegetable broth (½ cup)
- 2 tsp White pepper
- ¼ cup All purpose flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 Bay leaf
Take a medium saucepan and add the butter cheese to it.
Place the saucepan on medium flame and melt the butter.
Then add all-purpose flour to the melted butter. Mix well to avoid clumps. Stir until the mixture is even.
Keep mixing and then add the vegetable broth while still stirring.
When you observe that the roux has started to thicken, add milk, white pepper, bay leaf, and salt. Try to add milk in portions of 4 oz (½ cup) each. Mix all the ingredients well.
Stir and keep cooking so that it thickens its consistency.
Stop cooking when you feel that your desired texture, thickness, and level of doneness have been achieved.
The mouth-watering white pepper gravy is ready. Serve with your favourite main course. Bon Appetit!
