- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 Small onion (chopped)
- 2 Cloves Garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Ortega Thick & Smooth Taco Sauce- Medium
- 4 oz Ortega diced green chiles
- 1 can Ripe olives (Sliced) (2.25 oz)
- 1 Package Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix (Regular)
- 2 cups Mild cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1/4 cup Tomatoes (chopped)
- 1/8 cup Green onions (sliced)
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Brown beef, onion, and garlic. Drain.
Add water, taco sauce, chiles, olives, and seasoning. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
Layer half of the shells in a greased 12x8-inch dish.
Top with half of the meat sauce and 1 cup of cheese.
Repeat with remaining shells, sauce, and cheese.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and cheese melts.
Top with remaining olives, tomatoes, and green onions.
- Use lean ground beef for a healthier choice.
- Crush the tortilla chips for a more even texture.
- Try different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack for extra flavour.
