Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Colander
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Cutting board
  • Chef's knife.
  • Measuring cups
  • Rubber spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb Rotini Pasta
  • 1 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Tbsp Yellow Mustard
  • 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese Cubes
  • 1 Cup Frozen Peas
  • 1/2 Cup Red Onion Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Celery Sliced
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 6 Slices Cooked Bacon Crumbled

Instructions

  • Boil the Pasta: Fill a pot with water and salt. Let it reach a rolling boil. Add your pasta shapes. Cook until they are soft. Do not overcook the noodles.
  • Drain and Cool: Pour the pasta into a colander. Run cold water over the noodles. This stops the cooking process. Let the water drain out completely.
  • Make the Dressing: Get your large mixing bowl. Add mayo, sour cream, and mustard. Stir in the sugar and salt. Whisk until the sauce is smooth.
  • Prep the Veggies: Dice your onion and celery small. Make sure the pieces are even. Thaw your frozen peas quickly. Chop the bacon into small bits.
  • Combine Everything: Put the cold pasta in the bowl. Add the veggies and cheese cubes. Pour the dressing over the top. Stir it all together very gently.
  • Chill the Salad: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Place it in the fridge. Let it sit for one hour. This makes the flavors much better.
