  • Japanese rice (cooked) = 2 cups 
  • Green onions (thinly sliced) = 2 
  • Eggs = 2 
  • Vegetable oil = 1 teaspoon

Steps Involved In Making Beef Ojyu

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and dashi. Set aside.
  2. Heat skillet over medium heat, add vegetable oil. Cook onions until soft (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add sliced beef to skillet, and cook until browned (3-5 minutes).
  4. Pour soy sauce mixture over beef and onions, stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  5. In a separate pan, cook eggs sunny-side up or over-easy.
  6. Place cooked rice in a bowl, top with beef and onions.
